supporting our local community
At Maxwells, supporting our local community is important to us. We’re proud to work alongside local schools and charities, providing materials, advice, and practical help to bring projects to life. From improving learning spaces to supporting community initiatives, we’re always happy to lend a hand and give back to the people around us.

We’re proud to support the fantastic work taking place at Hope Wood Academy and its Butterfly Class.
We were delighted to donate a range of materials to help enhance their outdoor learning space in preparation for summer. These resources will not only improve the environment but also give young people the opportunity to develop new skills, build confidence, and enjoy hands-on activities in a creative setting.
It’s inspiring to see the school engaging with the local community, and we’re pleased to play a part in supporting such meaningful work.

We were delighted to welcome the children from Green Lane Nursery into store as part of their spring gardening project.
It was fantastic to see their excitement as they explored the colourful range of flowers and vegetables, carefully choosing seeds and planning their garden. We were more than happy to support by donating their supplies – and to add to the fun, we followed up with a delivery of compost, herb plants, and other essentials to help their garden grow.
Supporting opportunities like this, where children can learn, create, and connect with nature, is something we’re incredibly proud to be part of.

We’re proud to support the Tyneside Community Wood Shed and the incredible work it does in bringing people together. With its fully equipped workshop and welcoming environment, TCWS offers a space for people to learn new skills, work on projects, and connect with others.
By donating tools and materials, we’re helping support a cause that promotes creativity, wellbeing, and community – values we’re proud to stand behind.
